RAISING A BEER TO CANCER PREVENTION
Pints for Prostates’ Craft Brew Palooza Charity Beer Festival
TAMPA, FL -- October, 2011 -- Pints for Prostates will raise a beer to cancer prevention on December 10th, 2011 by hosting the “Craft Brew Palooza” charity beer festival at Hyde Park Village in Tampa, FL.
The Craft Brew Palooza event features exhibits from a wide variety of craft brewers offering samples of over one hundred of the finest craft beers available. The event will also feature craft beer educational information, beer and food pairing discussions, food vendors, live music and entertainment and other related activities. The event is designed to provide a unique festival experience for craft beer aficionados of all kinds.
The event benefits the national Pints for Prostates charity who will be distributing information and answering questions on health screenings and offering resources to learn more about protecting men’s health. Pints for Prostates will also be raffling tickets to win a Belgian Beer Tour tip for two for a minimal donation.
Pints for Prostates is a registered 501(c)(3) charity who conducts grassroots campaigns that use the universal language of beer to reach men with an important health message. Founded by prostate cancer survivor Rick Lyke in 2008, the campaign raises awareness among men about the need for regular health screenings and PSA testing through beer festivals, social networking and other activities.
“Guys and beer kind of go together. And obviously guys and prostate cancer go together.” said Rick Lyke. "Unfortunately, one in six men are going to have the disease.”. The purpose of Craft Brew Palooza is to raise prostate cancer awareness in a creative and fun way.
The Craft Brew Palooza event will include:
- Prostate cancer awareness information center and resources
- Sampling of over 100 of the best craft brews available
- Craft beer education and food pairing demonstration
- Chance to win a Belgian Beer Tour trip for two
- Live music and entertainment
- Food & merchandise vendors
